She Can Only Be The World

She bows for no one and nothing

She plays like she’s already won

She’s always inventing something

That’ll give her the edge that she wants

She dangles the moon

With the sun in her eyes

Her soul has an orbit

Her laugh pulls the tides

Her hands spin the stars

So they dance and they twirl

She can only be the world

She bears the weight of the mountains

She always has something to say

She’s as sharp as the thorn of the rose is

She fights with her will and her way

She crunches up diamonds

And unravels rain

She dances in the center

Of hurricanes

She exhales the clouds

And like flags they unfurl

She can only be the world

If she ever tired of her mortal place

She could topple the gods from their thrones

I may have had my chance of winning her grace

If she weren’t so busy being alone

She dangles the moon

With the sun in her eyes

Her soul has an orbit

Her laugh pulls the tides

Her hands spin the stars

So they dance and they twirl

She can only be the world

She crunches up diamonds

And unravels rain

She dances in the center

Of hurricanes

I’m so terrified

To collide with this girl…

That she can only be the world
